Who's ready for another Everybody Everywear challenge? This month is pattern mixing. I really look forward to these challenges every month. Sometimes it's fun to be "told" what to wear, you know? It really helps with my creativity. I don't think I would ever have paired this sweater with this dress if it weren't for this challenge.
I tried really hard not to make stripes one of my patterns. I know it sounds silly, but I think that pattern mixing with stripes is way too easy. I'm probably the only one who thinks that, though. The problem with not wanting to wear stripes is that I literally (seriously, I exaggerate most times but this is not one of them) have only two printed tops that aren't striped. I think we can all see where the holes in my wardrobe are.
I actually think I like this outfit in photos much better than I like it in person. I'm not sure why, really. Probably something to do with lighting or some fancy camera stuff that I have no knowledge of whatsoever.
This afternoon my mom and I went up to the Subaru dealer to talk to them about fixing my car. Here is the story: In January, on my way to rehearsal, I ran into (or over) a snow bank. I had a few very nice people help get my car out because I was wearing a dress, of course. Anyway, when I ran over the snow bank, part of the underside of my car came partially detached. No, I have no idea what part it is. The guy who helped me just pushed it back up in there and I drove off. My car was totally fine through the rest of the winter until about 3 weeks ago. I was driving, minding my own business, and all of a sudden this same part of my car decided to just fall back down and started dragging along the road.
Anyway, long story short, my dad took the piece off and I brought it to the Subaru dealer today. The guy we talked to there told me that it wasn't worth even putting back on because it doesn't really do anything. If it were his car he wouldn't bother. So that was good news! I certainly not going to pay to replace it if I don't need to.
I'm sure you were all curious about how my car is doing and really appreciated that story. No need to thank me. In completely unrelated news, I got my first negative comment yesterday. I think that's kind of a milestone. It means that someone other than my friends and family is reading this, even if they don't like it. It was clearly someone with very strong opinions and knowledge of how to properly express them. The comment was "SHUT UP". Very articulate and mature. I'm impressed.

Stripes are totally working for this outfit. I know it's tried and true, but the fact that you paired it with that heart-printed dress makes it stand out from the rest! Awesome job
