Cool Fall

Don't mind the picture heavy post, friends.  I just couldn't narrow it down.

This is my kind of comfy outfit.  These jeans are ripped and just a little too big, making them the perfect thing to wear with a giant cozy sweater.  Oh, and this scarf again.  I'm seriously wearing this thing every single day.  Including right now as I type this.  I guess I should make some more in different colors.

Ready for Fall

Let's play Jeopardy:
Wine and How I Met Your Mother.

What is how I spend my unexpected Saturday night off of work?

My plan for the evening was to take a whole bunch of outfit photos.  I have four outfits sitting on a stool in my bedroom waiting to be photographed.  I got two done today, but then my camera battery died.  I'm absolutely in love with the photos I got, though.  I found this fence around the back of another building in my apartment complex.  Isn't it cool?  I'm getting sick of taking photos outside on my deck, and I think my neighbors think I'm strange.  But I'm excited to find new places to take photos around my apartment.

This is a pretty phenomenal example of a typical Kate outfit these days.  Tights, baby-doll dress, sweater, heels, and these earrings.  Also, I made this scarf the other day out of some awesome fabric and I'm totally in love with it.  Luckily, I bought enough for two so if anyone else wants one, it's available!

Head Over Feet

Happy Thursday, friends!  This is going to be a short and sweet post, I think, because I have LOADS of work to do today.  I'm working on a Halloween costume for a friend that I'm going to try and finish today, and I have lots of my own projects in the works as well.  Then I have to go to my actual job later, too!  Busy day.

This shirt is literally my pajamas.  I wear it around the house to to sleep in frequently.  It's super cozy and worn in and I love it.  I was feeling very casual with this outfit.  An oversized shirt, skinny jeans, and a few accessories pretty much sums up my style lately.  I just love the ease and casual vibe of it.  I've also been feeling very 90s recently.  It may have something to do with the constant playing of Alanis Morisette in my car.

What I Ate: Miscellaneous

So, friends, I know it's been a while since I last did a What I Ate post.  I always take pictures of what I eat, but not every meal, or maybe only one meal.  So I have this abundance of photos that don't have full days to go with them.  I thought I'd share them with you guys, anyway!  This is is just a sample of what I eat during various days.

Homemade Green Monster bread with Earth Balance // More Green Monster Bread and a smoothie // Even more Green Monster Bread with assorted veggies and tofu

Boca nuggets and BBQ sauce (usually an after work snack) // Garden veggie burger with avocado and sprouts // Roasted Brussels Sprouts with vegan parmesan cheese // Rye bread with Sunbutter and kombucha

(Okay, I don't actually remember what's in this pasta, but it looks like sweet potatoes and spinach) // Ezekiel bread with avocado and sriracha, orange juice and coffee

Anyway, that's just a sample of what I eat.  Like I said, no full days of meals, but these are little snippets!

Better Late Than Never

Friends, I'm posting this outfit super late.  I wore this last Wednesday to go fabric shopping with a friend who I'm making a Halloween costume for, and then for a meeting with my boss at work.  (I work at a restaurant.  No need to get fancy for meetings.)  I loved this outfit so much that I wanted to take photos of it, but I kept running out of time or forgetting.  So this has been hanging up on a hanger in my room for days waiting for me to have time to photograph it.  I finally did!  I actually wore a different scarf with it, but I liked this one better.

I have the morning off of work today, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.  I've had loads of coffee, spent some time hanging out with my kitties and reading blogs, and now I'm working on this Halloween costume.  I like setting aside time to sew.  I haven't been doing a lot of it lately because I've been so busy with work, but I definitely want to start again.

Dress :: Vintage
Scarf :: Thrifted
Shoes :: Mia Girl (via DSW)

Funny story about these shoes.  I've had the heel replaced on one of them twice.  One time I was at Target and it just popped off in the middle of the clothing section.  The other time I was at work (not on the clock, obviously) and it popped off as I was walking up a couple of steps.  The last time I had it fixed the guy at the repair place said that it was the last time he was going to be able to fix them.  I was super bummed!  So now  I'm super careful everytime I wear them.  I love these booties and I'd be so sad if they broke again.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Out of Time

Two days in a row of outfit posts!  Crazy, right?  I'm pretty excited about it.  I wore lots of cute outfits recently, so I took lots of pictures.  I really like this one, too.  I just wore it to work yesterday (Tuesday).

Today is my day off for the week.  I'm really pumped about it and I've already been really productive.  This morning I went to the grocery store, and then went out to lunch with a friend.  Since then I have sketched and researched a costume for a friend, and typed up a cleaning list for work (okay, that wasn't very challenging, but it needed to get done!).  I still need to do dishes and clean my apartment, but I'm doing well so far!

I guess maybe I should talk about this outfit a little.  I don't really have a lot to say about it.  I bought this shirt at a consignment shop when I was in Maine in August and I hadn't worn it yet.  It was really warm this day, so the light material was a great choice.  I like the way the different thickness of the stripes goes with the floral skirt.  And I tend to throw a denim vest over half of my outfits, so that was a given.
