Salvation Song

I feel like I haven't had anything interesting to say on here in a while.  I've been studying and working like crazy, and that's about all I've been doing.  My parents are in town this weekend for my grandfather's memorial service, which was this afternoon.  Shortly, I'll be headed over to my aunt's house for a family dinner of take-out Chinese food.  Yummm.

I've worn this outfit maybe 4 times in the past week.  Seriously.  Lately I've been feeling really stuck on putting outfits together.  It's so hot, and all I want to wear are little sundresses and sandals.  Unfortunately, I don't own many sundresses, so I have to come up with something else.  This leads to me wearing the same outfit many days in a row once I find something that I really like.  I'm in a little bit of a rut right now, but I'm hoping that it well get better soon.

Because I Can

I must warn you all in advance that this will be a very picture-heavy post.  My mom took these photos for me, and a lot of them turned out really well.  I just couldn't decide!

A lot of bloggers take photos out in the middle of the street.  I would give examples here, but I can only think of one, which is not a very strong argument.  So just take my word for it.  Anyway, I've always wanted to try it.  I think my mom thought I was crazy when I told her I wanted to stand in the street to take photos.  She said "Why don't you stand near the garden?  Or in the driveway?" (That is not verbatim, I don't remember what she actually said.  It was something along those lines.) And I insisted that I stand in the street.  Thankfully, no cars came.

Then my mom (who is not a trained photographer) said "I have an idea!  Go pick up that leaf!"  So I did.  Hey, it was my mom.  I can't really say no.  It was very nice having her to take my photos.  Sometimes I get sick of standing in front of my tripod and waiting for the self-timer to go off.  Having a photographer is wonderful.

I wore this outfit yesterday to Friends Meeting.  My mom's side of the family is Quaker, so whenever we're in town we go to meeting.  It's very nice and I enjoy it quite a bit.  Afterward, my mom and my uncle and I went to Panera and had lunch, while using their wi-fi for 2 hours.  Then we had a wonderful dinner at my grandparent's house with most of the family.

This picture is merely to show of my creative scarf skills.  I love infinity scarves more than anything in the world (seriously) but I don't want to commit to sewing the two ends of my scarves together.  What if I decide I don't want to wear it as a loop?  Hmm?  So instead, I've taken to just knotting the two ends together.  It leaves the scarf super full and fun.
