EBEW: They Say It's Spring

Don't I look nice and springy today?  It's sort of ironic, because it actually started snowing as I was taking these photos.  Figures that the day I want to wear this skirt, it starts randomly snowing.  It has since stopped, but it's still absolutely freezing outside today.

Today is EBEW day!  I missed the last EBEW challenge because I was in Lincoln with my mom, so I was determined to make this one.  If you couldn't guess, today's theme was pastels!  In true Kate fashion, I didn't pick just one or two pastel items, I went with as many as possible.  I did what I usually do, and I pulled everything pastel out of my closet and threw it on my bed.  It's one of my favorite things to do.

I am absolutely in love with this skirt.  I found it at Goodwill, without a tag, so the cashier gave it to me for $1.99.  Awesome!  It's so cute and light and springy.  When I saw it I was instantly reminded of this American Apparel skirt, that I've totally been drooling over for years.  But really, $60 for a skirt? I don't have that kind of money, folks.  So this is a wonderful alternative!  And I like it even more!

I have surgery on my finger today at 3.  I'm really nervous about it.  Not because I think anything is going to go wrong - It's my finger, what could possibly happen? - But being fully awake while someone is cutting into my body is really scary for me.  I had a couple of moles removed on my face a few years ago, and that was really scary, too.  I'm sure everything will be fine, I'm just a little freaked out!  In the meantime, I'm trying really hard not to use my left index finger for anything.  It's much harder than it sounds.

Everything I'm wearing, with the exception of my tights and necklace, are secondhand.  I'm amazing, friends.  Also, my tights match our house color.

King of the World

Before anyone yells at me for not wearing green (which I completely imagine as something everyone reading this would do) I actually wore this outfit yesterday.  See?  No green wearing was necessary on May 16th.  I assure you that today, I am most definitely wearing green.

I built this outfit around these shoes, actually.  I rediscovered them in my shoe collection the other day and realized that I don't remember the last time I wore them.  It might be a little hard to tell, but they have little cutout shapes, with pastel pink, blue and yellow under them.  Super cute and fun.  I think they go really well the tights, too.  In other news, I really want to wear this dress all the time.  It's super cute and easy to throw on and it has POCKETS! As an obsessive chapstick user, I think every skirt/dress should have pockets. 

Not much else to say, friends.  I stayed up way too late last night. Luckily, I don't have to work today.  I went to a house party with a friend, and saw my next door neighbor's band play.  They were very good and I was extremely impressed.  (Matt, if you're reading this, AWESOME!)  Then we went to Pizza Luce to see some more bands play there.  I had a lot of fun, but I'm super exhausted this morning.
